Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

To support the billing process for Medicare and Medicaid accounts, the part-time Patient Account Representative will manage collections, account follow-up, and billing allowance posting while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with payers to ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims through various communication methods
• Monitor and verify billing accuracy, updating patient and financial information as necessary
• Analyze and resolve issues causing payment delays, initiating appeals when required

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2-3 years of experience in insurance collections and hospital/facility billing
• Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing, including ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPC codes
• Familiarity with various workflow systems and client host systems such as STAR, SMS, EAGLE, and EPIC
• Understanding of government, Medicare, and Medicaid claims
