Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

To support the billing process, the remote Patient Account Representative will manage collections, follow up on accounts, and post billing allowances while ensuring timely resolution of outstanding claims.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with payers to resolve outstanding claims through various communication methods
• Monitor and verify billing accuracy, updating patient and financial information as necessary
• Analyze and resolve issues causing payment delays, initiating appeals when needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2-3 years of experience in insurance collections and hospital billing
• Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing, including ICD-9/10 and CPT codes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Medical Billing and Coding certification preferred
