Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Patient Account Representative will manage the timely resolution of unpaid accounts through claim editing, billing, and follow-up processes to meet client cash and accounts receivable goals.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and research reasons for denied and underpaid claims, executing the best approach for resolution
• Correspond with third-party payers and clients to expedite claim resolution while maintaining confidentiality
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant systems, federal and state billing regulations, and contract terms related to claim resolution

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 3+ years of relevant equivalent experience
• 1-3+ years of experience within revenue cycle, health insurance, or healthcare customer service
• Working knowledge of medical insurance claims follow-ups, payer portals, and clearinghouses
• Experience with EHR and EMR systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
