Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

To support patient financial services, the full-time remote Patient Account Representative will manage billing forms and claims submissions, analyze unresolved insurance accounts, and perform follow-ups to ensure accurate reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Edit, prepare, and submit various billing forms and electronic claims in compliance with regulations
• Analyze and take action on unresolved insurance accounts, including denials and payment discrepancies
• Communicate with Medical Center staff and third-party payers to resolve billing and claim issues

Required qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in patient accounting or a related office environment
• Knowledge of UB, CMS 1500, ADA billing forms and payer requirements
• Experience with insurance billing, claims processing, and follow-up in a hospital or similar setting
• Familiarity with Epic Hospital Billing and/or SBO billing systems
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and other software for documentation and reporting
