Patient Account Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the Patient Account Specialist will assist patients with billing and insurance inquiries in a high-volume call center environment, demonstrating active listening and professionalism while managing payment processing and escalating unresolved issues.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound patient calls, providing assistance with billing questions and concerns
• Process payments and set up payment plans while maintaining a courteous rapport with patients
• Escalate complex issues to the Accounts Receivable team as needed

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications
• Experience in a high-volume call center or medical billing environment is preferred
• Must have a quiet, distraction-free workspace that meets HIPAA compliance standards
