Patient Account Specialist

Job Summary

To support billing operations, the hybrid remote Patient Account Specialist will manage third-party payer claims processing, resolve billing issues, and ensure timely reimbursement for hospital and physician accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Bill third-party payers and perform follow-up activities on assigned accounts to resolve issues
• Identify and appeal denied claims while maintaining compliance with state and federal billing guidelines
• Update account information and process adjustments within the Epic Resolute system

Required qualifications

• Two years of financial experience or one year of patient accounts experience
• Experience with end-to-end Revenue Cycle operations, including billing and collections
• Knowledge of insurance verification and claims processing
• Familiarity with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers
• Experience with Epic or a comparable patient accounting/EHR system
