Job Summary
To support efficient revenue cycle management, the full-time Patient Accounting Collections Specialist will follow up on outstanding accounts receivable, contact insurance companies and patients regarding claims, and ensure timely reimbursement while working remotely from New Mexico.
Key responsibilities
- Performs accounts receivable follow-up activities for assigned work queues and miscellaneous A/R reports
- Contacts insurance companies, patients, and employers regarding outstanding claims and provides necessary documentation for claim processing
- Maintains a system for timely follow-up on outstanding claims and reports insurance payor issues to leadership
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Less than 1-year healthcare clerical or customer service experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT codes, and revenue cycle processes preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products preferred
- Ability to provide a HIPAA-compliant workspace with a high-speed internet connection
