Patient Accounts Specialist

Job Summary

To support the billing operations, the part-time Patient Accounts Specialist I will manage patient accounts, ensuring accurate billing and timely reimbursement from third-party payers while maintaining documentation in the billing system and following up on aged accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Determine patients' ability to pay and explore payment plans or uncompensated care options
• Resolve billing issues by correcting errors that prevent claims from being submitted
• Communicate with patients and payers to address inquiries and follow up on assigned accounts

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in revenue cycle
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must complete Orlando Health team member development within 6 months of hire date
