Patient Accounts Specialist

Job Summary

To enhance patient experiences, the part-time Patient Accounts Specialist will manage pre-registration, financial responsibility communication, and payment plan options for patients scheduled for services, working remotely during day/evening shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Contact patients prior to their visits to inform them of estimated financial responsibilities and complete pre-registration
• Assist with pre-collection efforts, including offering payment plans and initiating Medicaid applications as needed
• Collaborate with Patient Advocates and Patient Access teams to ensure timely collection of payments and address financial risks

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years of experience in patient accounting, accounts receivable, or a related healthcare field
• Proficiency in at least one payer's application billing and/or collection process
• Basic knowledge of UB04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
• Familiarity with medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding
