Patient Accounts Specialist I

Job Summary

Responsible for accurately billing patient accounts, the full-time Patient Accounts Specialist I will ensure timely submission and reimbursement from third-party payers and patients, while working onsite to maintain proper account documentation and pursue follow-up on aged accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Determine patient payment abilities and seek assistance through payment plans or uncompensated care
• Resolve billing issues by correcting errors that prevent claims from being submitted
• Communicate with payers and patients to address and resolve inquiries and anticipated issues

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of Orlando Health team member development within 6 months of hire date
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in revenue cycle
