Patient Accounts Specialist I

Job Summary

Responsible for accurately billing patient accounts, the full-time Patient Accounts Specialist I will ensure timely submission and reimbursement from third-party payers and patients while maintaining proper account documentation in the billing system and pursuing follow-up on aged accounts, working onsite in Orlando, Florida.

Key responsibilities

• Determine patient's ability to pay and seek additional assistance through payment plans or uncompensated care
• Resolve billing holds by correcting issues that prevent claims from being billed
• Communicate with payers and patients to address inquiries and resolve anticipated issues

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in revenue cycle
• Must complete Orlando Health team member development within 6 months of hire date
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
