Job Summary
To ensure accurate reimbursement for the organization, the full-time Patient Accounts Specialist II will manage billing and collections, resolve payment variances, and communicate with insurance carriers while working onsite in Orlando, Florida.
Key responsibilities
- Resolve inaccurate payments with insurance carriers and ensure compliance with payer contracts
- Analyze underpayments and overpayments to identify root causes and ensure compliance with contractual agreements
- Coordinate duplicate billings and assist with departmental activities to expedite payment of insurance claims
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; must complete Orlando Health team member development within 6 months of hire
- One year of experience as a Patient Accounts Specialist I or two years in a related field such as medical billing or collections
- Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Communications, Business Finance, or a related area may substitute for two years of experience
- HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification required within six months of hire
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
