Patient Benefits Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for verifying patient eligibility and coordinating benefits, the remote Patient Benefits Specialist will perform insurance verification, document patient financial responsibilities, and obtain necessary authorizations for services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform insurance verification of benefit coverage for all patient services
• Document information related to coinsurance, copay, deductibles, and authorization requirements
• Obtain initial and reauthorization as necessary prior to patient admission for services

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma with 2 years of experience in patient registration or revenue cycle management, or 1 year with an Associate's Degree, LPN, or Pharm Tech license
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience in insurance verification and patient financial responsibility determination
