Patient Financial Advocate

Job Summary

Supporting patient financial advocacy services, the full-time remote Assistant Patient Financial Advocate will enroll patients in funding programs, assist with documentation, and maintain accurate case records while working under the supervision of the Patient Advocacy Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Enroll patients in philanthropic aid programs by preparing and submitting applications for financial assistance
• Gather required patient documentation and serve as a financial resource throughout the enrollment process
• Complete post-enrollment tasks, including submitting claims and confirming awarded assistance with funding sources

Required qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
• Experience in customer service preferred, especially in healthcare settings
• Basic mathematical and analytical skills for reviewing financial information
