Patient Financial Advocate
Job Summary
Working remotely from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the full-time Patient Financial Advocate will counsel patients on financial responsibilities and available payment options, assisting those who are uninsured or whose insurance is not accepted.
Key responsibilities
- Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and recommend alternative payment sources and financial assistance
- Contact insurance carriers and act as an advocate for patients to resolve financial issues
- Initiate and follow up on the collection of prepays to ensure maximum collection is achieved
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with three years of customer-facing experience, or
- Associate's Degree with two years of experience, or
- Bachelor's Degree with one year of experience
- Strong collection skills
- Experience with EPIC and Cisco is preferred
