Patient Financial Advocate

Job Summary

To support a growing behavioral health practice, the part-time hourly Patient Financial Advocate will assist patients in applying for financial assistance, establish payment plans, and monitor account balances while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Reviews financial assistance applications and verifies documentation against organizational policies
• Approves sliding scale discounts and adjusts patient account balances in the billing system
• Establishes and monitors patient payment plans, ensuring they are structured to fully satisfy outstanding balances

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in healthcare administration or finance preferred
• Three years of experience in healthcare billing, patient financial services, or medical collections required
• Experience with EHR and billing systems required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Knowledge of sliding scale/charity care and payment plan regulations preferred
