Patient Safety Companion

Job Summary

To provide essential monitoring and support for patient safety, the part-time Patient Safety Companion will ensure a safe environment, observe patients during assigned shifts, and assist with routine activities while working onsite in Peoria, Illinois.

Key responsibilities

• Directly observe identified patients at all times during assigned shifts to ensure safety
• Implement and document patient safety protocols, including monitoring for elopement, suicide risks, and aggression
• Assist patients with routine activities, meal selection, and coordinate care with nursing staff and other hospital personnel

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training within 3 months of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
• Ability to work as needed, including weekends and holidays
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required
