Patient Scheduler

Job Summary

To support the Cardiothoracic Surgery team, the part-time Patient Scheduler will manage non-clinical scheduling and administrative tasks remotely, including handling calls, scheduling appointments in Epic, and managing referral work queues while ensuring high standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound calls, gathering information and routing inquiries to appropriate teams
• Schedule clinic appointments accurately in Epic, ensuring correct visit types and locations
• Independently manage referral work queues and process incoming documentation to support patient scheduling

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Experience with Epic or comparable electronic medical record systems preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and front-office functions preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
