Payment Application Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient financial operations, the full-time Payment Application Specialist will post insurance and patient payments to Epic, reconcile transactions, and assist in resolving outstanding deposits while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Processes electronic remittances and manually posts payments, ensuring accurate transaction routing in Epic
• Balances postings to bank deposits and maintains timely and accurate posting according to departmental goals
• Investigates and resolves unidentified or missing payments by contacting third-party payors and financial institutions

Required qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• One year of medical billing or medical office experience preferred
• Experience in bookkeeping and cash balancing
• Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payers preferred
• Ability to utilize payor portals for overpayment recoveries
