Payment Operations Manager

Job Summary

Leading payment operations for small trucking operators, the full-time Payment Operations Manager will manage disputes, develop payment flexibility strategies, and oversee collections in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage disputes and escalations related to payment, transaction, and account issues while establishing SLAs and handoffs with Customer Success
• Develop and implement the payment flexibility strategy, defining criteria for customer flexibility and tracking decisions
• Oversee collections, differentiating between genuine financial hardship and accounts flagged for fraud or risk

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in payment operations, collections, or credit risk, preferably in B2B or lending environments
• Proven experience in team management, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
• Strong understanding of key performance metrics such as delinquency aging and recovery rates
• Working knowledge of debt collection compliance, including FDCPA and state equivalents
• Proficiency in using data and AI tools to inform decisions and shape policies at scale
