Payment Posting Specialist
Job Summary
To support revenue cycle operations, the full-time Payment Posting Specialist will manage the accurate posting of payments, adjustments, and denials from various payers while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and denials accurately in the billing system
- Reconcile electronic remittance advice (ERA) and paper explanation of benefits (EOB) with payments received
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payment postings or account balances
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, payment posting, or healthcare accounts receivable
- Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CCA) is a plus
- Experience with automated payment posting systems and payer portals
- Knowledge of financial reconciliation processes in healthcare settings
