Payment Posting Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Payment Posting Specialist will manage the posting, adjusting, and monitoring of patient accounts receivables while ensuring compliance and accuracy in revenue cycle functions.
Key responsibilities
- Completes timely and accurate posting of all payments and adjustments at the patient account level, balancing to the bank deposit daily
- Communicates with patients, insurance, or third-party administrators to clarify information needed for successful payment posting
- Researches and resolves insurance overpayments and credits, and processes patient refund requests
Required qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- 1-3 years of Payment Posting experience in a medical setting
- Ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits
- Knowledge of third-party billing and collection requirements, including Medicare and Medicaid
- Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
