Payment Posting Specialist

Job Summary

To support the revenue cycle, the fully remote Payment Posting Specialist will accurately post payments from insurance companies and patients, reconcile discrepancies, and collaborate with other departments to streamline processes.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately post payments into the accounts receivable system and ensure proper coding based on EOBs and remittance advice
• Reconcile payments and adjustments, investigating discrepancies and taking appropriate action to resolve issues
• Collaborate with accounts receivable and billing teams to address denied or partially paid claims and notify management of underpayments

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare payment posting, billing, or revenue cycle management
• Proficient in healthcare billing software and electronic payment systems
• Familiarity with insurance payment systems, EOBs, and remittance advice
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve payment discrepancies
