Payments Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Seeking an entrepreneurial and hands-on Payments Engineering Manager, this full-time position will lead the Payments team in redesigning operations, building systems for processing ACH and wire transfers, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, with the flexibility for remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on Engineering Manager to build and mentor the payments team
• Design, build, and maintain systems that process large-scale ACH and wire transfers
• Implement security controls for fraud prevention and partner with compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack web developer and 2+ years managing a payments engineering team
• Direct experience with money-movement systems in regulated environments
• Strong understanding of transactional integrity and failure-mode design in financial systems
• Familiarity with payment rails, banking APIs, and financial compliance standards
• Proven experience making key architectural decisions for high-stakes projects
