Job Summary
To ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, the fully remote Payroll Specialist will manage payroll activities, maintain compliance with regulations, and provide support to employees and management.
Key responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
- Review and validate employee timekeeping records, earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience with knowledge of payroll practices and taxes
- Experience using a computerized payroll and timekeeping system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data reconciliation
- Experience processing multi-state payroll and familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP or Workday preferred
