Job Summary
To support a growing client base, the full-time Payroll Tax Specialist will maintain accurate tax records, prepare local, state, and federal tax returns, and ensure compliance with tax regulations while working remotely after initial in-person training.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and manage tax filing accounts, serving as the main contact for federal and state tax agencies
- Review, validate, and adjust payroll tax documents and reports for accuracy, resolving discrepancies as needed
- Investigate complex payroll tax issues, providing guidance and support to colleagues and clients
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in the tax field or 4+ years in payroll tax in a corporate or service provider environment
- Experience with Master Tax or similar payroll tax systems preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software
