Job Summary

Detail-oriented and knowledgeable, the full-time remote Payroll Tax Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert on employment tax compliance for the US and Canada, resolving tax notices, managing registrations, processing tax adjustments, and handling high-volume employee inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, investigate, and resolve US and Canada federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax notices
  • Process payroll tax adjustments, including W2c corrections and T4 amendments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Support quarter-end and year-end payroll tax activities, including W-2/T4 preparation, reconciliations, and filings
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in employment/payroll tax for both the USA and Canada
  • Proficiency in Workday and ADP Smart Compliance, including managing tax registrations and resolving exceptions
  • Experience with quarter-end and year-end payroll tax processes, including filings and reconciliations
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume employee inquiries with a strong customer service orientation
  • Accounting background preferred; FPC or PCP certification desirable
