PE Licensed Distribution Planning Engineer
Job Summary
Leading and supporting DER impact studies, the full-time salaried PE Licensed Distribution Planning Engineer will assess hosting capacity, perform simulations, and prepare technical documentation while working remotely or from various office locations across the U.S.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct detailed DER impact studies to evaluate integration of distributed energy resources into the distribution grid
- Perform steady-state and dynamic simulations using industry-standard tools and maintain distribution system models
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory filings
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Typically requires 6 years of experience in electric utility distribution planning with a focus on DER integration
- Strong understanding of distribution system operations and planning principles
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., WindMil, CYME, Synergi)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
