Penetration Tester

Job Summary

To support a federal client's cyber security team, the full-time Penetration Tester will utilize automated tools and manual techniques to assess security controls across various information systems and networks, while documenting results and engaging with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security testing of web applications, APIs, operating systems, and network devices, documenting findings and providing recommendations
• Perform in-depth testing, including exploitation of agency assets to evaluate network resiliency and vulnerabilities
• Ensure the adequacy of current penetration testing tools and recommend additional software as needed for comprehensive security assessments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related IT field
• 7+ years of relevant experience in software development, cyber security, and testing
• Proficiency in web application, API, and network testing, with experience in tools like Burp Suite Professional and Kali Linux
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and/or PowerShell
• Recommended penetration testing certification, such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or GIAC certifications
