Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation accuracy, the full-time Pennsylvania Licensed CDI Specialist will review medical records, communicate with healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while working primarily in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records for completeness and compliance with CMS and DOH regulations
- Prepare and submit queries to physicians regarding documentation deficiencies
- Educate healthcare providers on proper documentation practices and coding compliance
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Health Information Management, or related field
- CDDS or CDIP certification preferred; RN/BSN or RHIA/RHIT with CCS considered
- 2-3 years of Clinical Documentation Improvement experience or 5 years of Coding experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicare reimbursement systems and coding structures preferred
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision
