Job Summary
To support pet families in the Pittsburgh and Washington, Pennsylvania area, the part-time Pennsylvania Licensed Hospice Veterinarian will provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia services while enjoying professional autonomy and a flexible work schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services
- Travel independently to scheduled appointments and practice effectively in a mobile veterinary care environment
- Educate pet families on quality-of-life decisions, end-of-life care options, and aftercare considerations with empathy
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or equivalent veterinary medical degree
- Active veterinary license in Pennsylvania or eligibility to obtain one
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between appointments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with empathy during sensitive end-of-life conversations
- Availability for rotational weekend scheduling as required by the position
