Pennsylvania Licensed Medical Director, Psychiatry

Job Summary

To promote the delivery of safe and effective medical care, the part-time Pennsylvania Licensed Medical Director, Psychiatry will manage utilization management and care management processes, ensuring cost-effective health care delivery while working remotely in the Tri-State Area.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee utilization management and care management initiatives, providing physician leadership and support
• Render coverage and payment determinations based on health plan terms and clinical guidelines
• Collaborate with professional staff and external partners to enhance cost-effective health care delivery

Required qualifications

• Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited institution
• Unrestricted Pennsylvania license to practice clinical or osteopathic medicine
• Current Board Certification in psychiatry by ABMS or AOBMS
• Previous experience in utilization management preferred but not required
• Ability to complete the credentialing process with Independence Blue Cross
