Pennsylvania Licensed Oncology Data Specialist

Job Summary

To support cancer registry operations, the full-time Pennsylvania Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will manage the abstraction of clinical data from electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Abstracts and inputs clinical data into the cancer registry, including patient demographics, diagnosis, and treatment information
• Conducts case-finding and follow-up for living patients to determine disease status in accordance with state and national reporting requirements
• Submits data to the Pennsylvania Cancer Registry and National Cancer Database to maintain regulatory compliance and accreditation

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required; Associate's Degree preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a hospital cancer registry
• Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification from the National Cancer Registry (NCRA) required
• Cancer Registry Management Certificate from an NCRA accredited program preferred
• Thorough understanding of medical terminology, disease processes, and staging systems
