Job Summary
To support agronomic research initiatives, the full-time Summer Research Technician will assist with managing regional plots, including equipment preparation and operation, foliar applications, and data collection while working in various locations across the Midwest.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with managing regional plots, including preparation and operation of farm and drone equipment
- Execute foliar applications and collect various agronomic data, ensuring accurate mixing and application of fertilizers and chemicals
- Follow safety protocols and stay informed on agronomic products and precision agriculture technologies
Required qualifications
- Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in an agricultural-related major
- Pesticide Applicator's license required by start date or within 2 weeks of hire
- Technical knowledge in agronomy and crop sciences preferred
- Ability to lift and carry weights of 50-60 lbs and work extended hours during peak seasons
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
