Pharmacy Technician Specialist
Job Summary
To support the patient assistance team, the full-time Medication Prior Authorization Specialist I will manage medication prior authorization requests, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while working remotely from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Key responsibilities:
- Completes area-specific work and adheres to established processes and policies
- Serves as an expert in specialized equipment and technology, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise
- Maintains accurate documentation and records while identifying quality improvement opportunities
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; an Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology is required for technicians in NC
- Registration/Licensure with the state board of pharmacy as per state requirements
- Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Health Career Association (ExCPT)
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in healthcare, insurance, pharmacy, or a medical background
- Strong background in medical terminology preferred
