Pharmacy Underwriter
Job Summary
To support the Commercial Operations Division, the full-time remote Pharmacy Underwriter will manage pharmacy-related pricing, contracts, and risk assessments while ensuring financial stability related to clients' pharmacy claim costs.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and clarify group health application information by contacting relevant parties
- Perform risk appraisals for group health insurance and evaluate group risk for acceptability, coverage, and pricing
- Calculate and negotiate rates and premium charges for group health insurance using approved methodologies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2 years of experience in Stop Loss Underwriting, Financial Underwriting, Actuarial, or Financial Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience working independently and in a team environment with shared responsibilities
