Photonics Hardware Validation Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of engineers, the full-time salaried Photonics Hardware Validation Manager will oversee the characterization, verification, and validation of electro-optical subassemblies, focusing on single-photon sources and detectors while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a photonics hardware validation team, defining technical ownership and staffing plans
• Own and execute comprehensive validation plans for photonic modules from initial hardware bring-up to manufacturing transfer
• Drive cross-functional debugging and failure analysis, ensuring clear communication of risks and corrective actions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, optics, photonics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of industry experience in optical and electro-optical hardware characterization and validation, including 2+ years in a management role
• Strong foundation in silicon photonics and hands-on expertise with optical and RF laboratory instrumentation
• Proven experience leading cross-functional hardware validation and failure analysis efforts
• Ability to analyze data using Python, MATLAB, or similar environments for reproducible results
