Physical Therapy Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing digital musculoskeletal care company, the part-time Medical Billing Specialist will manage billing for physical therapy clinics and insurance contracts, ensuring accurate claim submissions and client communication in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Bill Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) for PT clinic clients, preparing, submitting, tracking, and reconciling claims
• Act as a billing liaison during client onboarding and check-in calls, addressing billing inquiries and issues
• Manage claims for the company's virtual PT services with commercial health plans, including handling denials and appeals

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of physical therapy billing experience, including knowledge of CPT codes and payer rules
• Experience with commercial payers, clearinghouses, ERAs, and payer portals
• Proven ability to work denials and appeals from start to finish
• Comfortable communicating with clinic owners and office managers regarding billing matters
• Self-directed and capable of managing the billing function independently
