Physician AI Engineer

Job Summary

To build an AI-enabled care delivery platform, the full-time remote Physician AI Engineer will own the development of clinical and safety agents, translating clinical reasoning into shippable products while collaborating with product and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full arc of clinical and safety agents from scoping to production
• Establish a clinical evaluation framework to ensure quality and safety of AI agents
• Improve core components of Counsel AI, benchmarking against physician performance

Required qualifications

• MD, DO, or international equivalent, with residency training or 3+ years of clinical experience
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production environments
• Proven ownership of shipped products in industry or startup settings, preferably in health tech
• Board-eligible or board-certified status with recent clinical practice experience
• Published research or public writing on clinical AI or related fields is strongly preferred
