Job Summary
To manage complex surgical and multidisciplinary specialty claims, the full-time remote Physician Billing Specialist will analyze claims, contact insurance companies for outstanding payments, and review rejections to ensure proper resolution.
Key responsibilities:
- Contact insurance companies to secure outstanding payments through various communication methods
- Review complex claim rejections to determine validity and take appropriate action for resolution
- Monitor changes in reimbursement policies and perform special projects as assigned by management
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Two years of previous Revenue Cycle experience, including knowledge of PFS, Customer Service, and third-party reimbursement
- Familiarity with ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding and billing practices of major third-party payors in Massachusetts
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes
- Computer skills, including proficiency in mainframe, PC applications, and Excel
