Platform Design Systems Lead

Job Summary

To drive the strategy and governance of design-system practices for a large-scale digital product platform, the contract Platform Design Systems Lead will work remotely or in a hybrid environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create scalable and accessible digital experiences while focusing on documentation, technical enablement, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the platform design-system roadmap in alignment with product objectives and accessibility requirements
• Lead the adoption of design patterns, components, and documentation across the platform, ensuring collaboration between design and engineering teams
• Develop and maintain design-system documentation and training materials to improve adoption and understanding of design-system standards

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall professional experience, with at least 5+ years in design systems, product design, or related digital product disciplines
• Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing design-system adoption in large-scale environments
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern component frameworks such as React or Vue
• Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles, accessibility, and WCAG standards
• Experience with design-system documentation tools such as Storybook and/or Zeroheight
