Platform Developer
Job Summary
Designing and developing backend services, the full-time Platform Developer will maintain APIs and tools for VA.gov, ensuring security and scalability while working remotely in the U.S.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Ruby and Ruby on Rails
- Build secure, scalable REST APIs to support platform and product teams
- Integrate with internal and external enterprise systems and contribute to platform architecture initiatives
Required qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years' experience as a Backend or Full Stack Engineer
- Strong experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
