Seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in evolutionary and conservation genomics, the full-time position will involve analyzing genomic data from both modern and historical datasets to assess hybridization patterns among canid species, with opportunities for mentorship and collaboration in a hybrid work environment based in Houston.
Key responsibilities
- Design and conduct research in evolutionary and population genomics using large whole genome datasets
- Analyze genomic datasets, prepare manuscripts for publication, and present findings at scientific conferences
- Mentor and train junior research team members in computational and genomic research methods
Required qualifications
- Ph.D. in evolutionary biology, genomics, ecology, genetics, or a related field by the start date
- Research background in population genomics, evolutionary genomics, or conservation genomics
- Experience analyzing large-scale genomic datasets and proficiency with computational methods using R on Linux/Unix
- Knowledge of population genetic and evolutionary theory as applied to genomic data
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
