PostgreSQL Architect
Job Summary
Leading the architecture migration strategy for enterprise database platforms, the remote PostgreSQL Architect will focus on modernization planning, heterogeneous migrations from various RDBMS platforms to PostgreSQL, and guiding schema conversion and performance tuning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PostgreSQL target state architecture migration strategy and modernization planning
- Drive heterogeneous migrations from Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Sybase, or other RDBMS platforms to PostgreSQL
- Define best practices for PostgreSQL design, indexing, partitioning, and operational readiness
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of database engineering, administration, architecture, and migration experience
- Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, PLpgSQL, and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and AWS services
- Strong experience in heterogeneous database migrations and cutover planning
- Good scripting and automation skills using SQL, PLpgSQL, and Python
