Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on PostgreSQL Database Administrator for a full-time remote position in the U.K., responsible for managing database services across on-premises infrastructure and GCP, including production operations, migration projects, and operational automation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the full database lifecycle for PostgreSQL and EDB, including installation, configuration, security, and monitoring
• Configure and manage high-availability clusters using EDB Failover Manager, ensuring operational continuity and application connectivity
• Utilize automation tools like Ansible and Git to build repeatable environments and maintain documentation for database operations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or 2+ years of equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience in production environments
• Experience with EDB Postgres, EFM, Barman, and PostgreSQL monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Strong SQL performance-tuning skills and knowledge of PostgreSQL internals
• Proficient in Linux administration and troubleshooting, with hands-on experience in automation using Ansible and Git
