Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time PostgreSQL Database Administrator will manage the availability, performance, security, and recoverability of PostgreSQL and MySQL databases on AWS, focusing on daily operations, upgrades, and backup and recovery tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Administer PostgreSQL and MySQL databases on Amazon RDS, performing daily health checks and troubleshooting issues
- Plan and execute database upgrades and patching, including rollback planning and validation processes
- Oversee backup and recovery operations, including AWS Backup plans and scheduled restore tests
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
- Three years of experience administering production relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and strong SQL skills, including PL/pgSQL
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Experience with change control and production change management practices
