Job Summary
Seeking a hands-on PostgreSQL Database Administrator for a full-time remote position to manage database services across on-premises infrastructure and GCP, focusing on production operations, migrations, high-availability standardization, and operational automation.
Key responsibilities
- Administer the full database lifecycle, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and incident response
- Configure and troubleshoot high availability with EDB Failover Manager, ensuring application connectivity and failover tests
- Utilize automation tools like Ansible and Git to build repeatable environments and maintain configuration management
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or 2+ years of equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration in production environments
- Experience with EDB Postgres, EFM, Barman, and PostgreSQL monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, backup validation, and disaster recovery processes
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, Git, and cloud environments such as GCP or AWS
