PostgreSQL Database Consultant

Job Summary

To support enterprise clients in maintaining critical data platforms, the full-time PostgreSQL Database Consultant will remotely diagnose, stabilize, and tune large self-managed database environments while providing expert advice and solutions to prevent future issues.

Key responsibilities:

• Audit and optimize PostgreSQL configurations, maintenance, and indexing to stabilize systems and reduce incidents
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential database issues
• Consult with clients to develop outcome-driven platforms and guide them through technical challenges

Required qualifications:

• Extensive production experience administering PostgreSQL on self-managed infrastructure
• Expertise in vacuum and autovacuum tuning, indexing strategies, and PostgreSQL configuration
• Strong skills in query performance analysis and experience with replication and high availability solutions
• Familiarity with backup, restore, and point-in-time recovery processes
• Solid Linux administration skills related to database hosts and incident response experience
