Power Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Leading system studies for utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS), the full-time Power Systems Engineer III will independently manage multiple projects while ensuring compliance with safety standards and mentoring less-experienced engineers in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform and lead system studies, including protective device coordination, short circuit, load flows, and power quality assessments
- Create equipment specifications and design collection systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Write reports and present findings, solutions, and project updates to clients and stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in power systems analysis
- Advanced knowledge of power systems analysis software tools such as ETAP, CDEGS, or similar
- EIT Certificate or PE Licensure is desirable
- Experience with Python or similar programming languages for process automation is preferred
