Pre-Certification Specialist

Job Summary

To support the pre-certification process, the part-time Pre-Certification Specialist will obtain and provide accurate data input for pre-certification and preauthorization from insurance companies while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary pre-certifications for services
• Accurately enter and update patient data into the computer system while maintaining confidentiality
• Review claim denials and rejections, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards and departmental policies

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in healthcare or physician's office related to pre-authorizations
• Extensive knowledge of individual payor websites and medical terminology
• Experience with GE Centricity or EPIC PB preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
